About us

The Northern Music Centre is a unique and dedicated establishment offering private tuition in a wide range of musical instruments.

The Centre opened in September 1996 with only four studios but expanded to its current size with the acquisition of the adjacent premises.

The NMC currently teaches in excess of 450 students per week. It is a private enterprise and receives no .funding from external sources. We have seven dedicated teaching studios, an office and staff room. Each studio is well equipped with pianos, both acoustic and digital.

Our studios can be hired at an hourly rate of £5.00. Please contact us for availability.

Studio 1 is used primarily for piano teaching and features a Yamaha G1 grand piano. it is also used for Associated Board and Trinity College examinations.

Studio 3 is used for guitar tuition.

Studio 7 is used for string and woodwind teaching.

Studio 2 is used for piano, keyboard and singing teaching. It is furnished with a Chappel grand piano, a Roland digital piano and a Yamaha keyboard.

Studio 4 is used for guitar and singing.

Studio 8 contains a kit for the Saturday drum tuition and is also used for woodwind and brass teaching
